Will Turns 2

Will had a great turn out for his (early) 2nd birthday party. The house was full of friends and family. The kids all had a great time playing. I am so thankful for the playroom. It kept the boys and their toys corralled. The food was good and the cake was delicious. Will didn't want his friends to leave, as you can see. After his nap, he waited at the door with is 'laloons' looking for his pals.

Swing, Thank You

Swinging like a big boy. Yet another favorite pastime for Will. He won't say please. He says 'thank you' for everything. So it is always, 'swing thank you', 'drink thank you', 'more thank you', etc. Pretty cute kid.

A Trip through Bethlehem

Our church is presenting the Christmas pageant this year. It is an interactive program that allows the audience to experience the Journey to Bethlehem first hand. You walk through the scenes...marketplace, Roman soldiers yelling, the crucifixion. It is pretty amazing. Well, Will and I joined a couple of friends and spent the afternoon with the animals before their big show. Will had a blast saying 'wow' and 'cool' and made all the animal sounds as he patted them. It was a nice way to spend our day on a cold afternoon.

Climb, Climb, Climb

Will is a climber. I am just waiting for the day he figures out how to get out of his crib. This past week, Will climbed his first tree at Grammy and Papa's house. They have a great Live Oak in their back yard that is perfect for climbing. Papa has propped a ladder and put a seat in the tree to make it easier for the grand babies to navigate their way up. With a little help from Papa, Will made his way up. He thought he was pretty cool up there looking down at his mommy. We played a quick game of peekaboo, and then I decided it was time to get down. He was getting a little too adventurous.

5,4,3,2,1...Blastoff

Every time we are at Papa and Grammy's, Will must ride the tractor. This time, he ran to it and jumped on before Papa had a chance to get him. He kept pulling the lever and saying "Blastoff" every time it revved the engine. He thought that was pretty cool. I think he could have ridden it for hours. I hope he enjoys it when he is older and mowing is his weekend chore.

Snapshots

Books, Books, Everywhere

This kid loves his books. We didn't hear Will for a while, which usually means he is up to something. We walked into his room to find him in the middle of all his books, reading. Of course, it is always much more fun to read when all of the books are pulled off the shelf. We all got on the floor and read nearly all of his books. It was a great way to spend our evening.

Family Fun

Will loved having Gavin and Emma here during the Thanksgiving holiday. The kids played and played. We all had such a great time eating, sleeping, and playing. Will followed Gavin everywhere and would wake up each morning looking for Gavin and Memma.

Snow on Thanksgiving

Well, it did snow, but it sure doesn't look like it from this picture. Unfortunately, I did not venture out to get anymore snapshots of the kids playing in the snow....much too cold. Gavin thought is was pretty neat, but he didn't want to be out there too long. Being from east Texas, the cold weather was not something he was used to. I am glad that he got to see the snow.

Feeding the ducks...and Will

Right before Thanksgiving, we went to a local park to feed the ducks, but as you can see, Will preferred to feed himself the bread. I guess there could be worse things he could have eaten at the park. It was a beautiful and unusually warm day. Perfect park weather.

"Fread"

Will loves to 'fread' as he says it. He wants to sit and read all of his book, especially at bedtime. It is a great stalling tactic. It is getting cold here, so we had to pull out the footed pjs already. He really doesn't like having his feet covered. When we put them on, he looks at his feet and whines. He just looks so cute in them though. Poor kid.

Trick or Treat!

Trick or Treating was a blast. Will had such a great time going door to door. He would stand at the door and say 'ding-dong' instead of actually knocking. He would hold out his bag to get the treats. He was good at saying thank you followed by 'see ya' or 'bye-bye'. Once we got home, he stood by our candy basket and helped himself to the treats. He would put them in his bag and say thank you. He stayed in his costume until bath time.

Time Out

Unfortunately, we have had to get a Time-Out stool. However, this just reassures me that Will is right on schedule, developmentally. We have had to use it many times for hitting, throwing...you know, boy stuff. The only bad thing now is that he loves sitting on his little stool. He is a mess....and I am afraid it is my fault that he is rotten.

Go Tech

Mike and I got to go to the Tech game on Saturday. Unfortunately, the team lost, but we still had a great time. Of course, Will had to wear his jersey for game day. He had no trouble 'cheesing' for the camera. This is his new camera face. Just another phase.

Sissy the dog

While at the park, Will made a new friend in Sissy the dog. Will loves dogs and was fighting me to get out of the swing to go and visit. Sissy was so sweet and let Will hug and kiss all over her. Will won't let you get too many kisses, so if you ask for a kiss, he'll usually lower his head so you can kiss the top of it or his forehead. He kept doing this with the dog, which was fine by me. He would squeal and get so excited when Sissy would lick his head. Fun!
